TÜV SÜD Product Service GmbH - Technischer Überwachungsverein
TÜV SÜD Product Service GmbH - Technischer Überwachungsverein

AC2M's safety gates (pallet lock gates), folding stairways and mobile safety ladders have been inspected, approved and certified by TÜV SÜD Product Service GbmH.

What exactly is the TÜV SÜD Product Service?

Founded in 1866, TÜV (Technischer Überwachungsverein) is a German inspection and certification body and THE benchmark quality and safety label in Germany.

TÜV SÜD Product Service certification guarantees that a product has passed a strict and rigorous safety test, that it complies with national and international regulations, and that it presents no danger. TÜV SÜD Product Service certification means that the product meets all the requirements in terms of safety, quality and reliability.

Is the TÜV SÜD Product Service certificate only valid in Germany?

Considered as a guarantee for quality and reliability throughout the world, the registered trademark TÜV is yet still unsufficiently known in France. TÜV is involved in every kind of technical field.

How do you proceed for a TÜV SÜD Product Service certification?

First of all, TÜV SÜD creates an assessment protocol based on the points to be examined and the norms and standards in force that have to be taken into account. After a meticulous analysis of the technical data sheets, calculations and manufacturing plans, as well as the checking of the qualification of the production staff (welder's certificate or licence), the TÜV SÜD Product Service GmbH-inspector visits the site and carries out the examinations and tests.

By subjecting a product or a solution to a series of rigorous tests, the examiner guarantee its reliability, assess its technical characteristics (quality and safety) and seeks to detect any potential defects or health hazards. The results are immediately analysed to check that the products comply with the standards.

What does this mean in practice?

In the case of AC2M products, for example, the TÜV SÜD Product Service GmbH-inspector checks all the measurements in detail, makes sure that the mechanisms are working properly, carefully checks for any possible hazards (risk of pinching fingers or crushing feet, risk of falling, etc.), and then carries out resistance and stress tests by applying weights to the rails, steps, etc. of the products. Deformation after weighted stress must be minimal.

Does the TÜV SÜD inspection include a workshop inspection?

Once the products have been inspected, it's time to take a look at the production site. Are the materials compliant and properly labelled, does the production staff have calibrated mesuring tools and is it equipped with suitable protective equipment (because we are talking about safety, aren't we?) ? What is the production cycle like, from the purchase of the material, through manufacturing, to dispatch of the finished product?

After gathering all this information, the inspector draws the conclusions of his inspection and awards the TÜV SÜD Product Service certificate or not. As an independent body, his assessment is objective and reliable.

The TÜV SÜD Product Service certificate is awarded for a perion of 5 years, with an annual inspection of the production site.
