'2 in 1’ mobile safety ladder - new at AC2M!
Why make things complicated when you can make them simple? That's the question Damien Naudin and Aurélien Coudrat asked themselves when developing AC2M's new mobile safety ladder. 🤔
First of all, let's see what a mobile safety ladder is used for. It's a device that allows safe work on the dome of vehicles such as tanker, isotankers or rail wagons. The operator unlocks the ladder and approaches the vehicle, adjusting its height so that the safety cage protects the working area. He then places the ladder on its fixed supports. Now the operator can climb the ladder and enter the safety cage by pushing the gate (which opens inwards for added safety). The operator is perfectly safe while cleaning, sampling and so on.
So what's new about this mobile safety ladder?
Firstly, the height adjustment system has been completely revolutionised. Instead of the conventional winch system - practical but tedious and time-consuming to use - the new AC2M ladder is simply adjusted by slinding the ladder over the fixed surface. The operator slides the upper part of the ladder onto the fixed surface, then locks it to provide stable access. Simple, fast and effective: that's how we like collective protection equipment (CPE). 👍🏻
And another incredible innovation invented and developed by the two co-managers of AC2M: the AC2M mobile ladder can be used in both longitudinal and perpendicular movements. There's no longer any need to have two different ladders on hand when working - it can be used for frontal access if there's enough space to move backwards, but also for parallel movement of the ladder in relation to the vehicle. This is a feature that is highly appreciated, for example, when working on rail wagons on tracks that are quite close together, but also for tanks or isotainers parked next to each other in a car park. This double directional option is available for all quotation requests. Clever, isn't it? 💡
